Position Mission: Support the Production Manager in overseeing, planning, and executing production, quality processes, and safety objectives to the highest standards. Ensure efficient production of goods and services, maintaining optimal cost, quality, and quantity. Collaborate proactively with cross-functional teams to enhance customer satisfaction and production performance. Identify and implement best practices to maximize company profitability while achieving both short-term and long-term production goals.
Compensation: $60,000 to $90,000
Revision Level: R1 (2/1/2025)
Essential Roles and Responsibilities Overview:
- Monitor production to meet shipping and efficiency targets.
- Manage workforce planning and address staffing fluctuations.
- Track and communicate key manufacturing metrics (e.g., run-time attainment, cost of quality, safety, and delivery performance).
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of production documentation.
- Oversee quality objectives, including error-proofing, PPM, and control plan adherence.
- Conduct process audits and implement corrective actions using problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why).
- Promote workplace safety, enforce PPE usage, and address hazards.
- Lead and support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Provide performance feedback, conduct reviews, and develop employees.
- Coordinate training programs and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Manage team schedules, oversee hiring decisions, and collaborate with HR on personnel matters.
- Support employee engagement through communication, training, and development opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Associate degree in a Technical or Business field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing inventory programs and driving process improvements.
- LEAN or Six Sigma certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and leadership in fast-paced environments.
