Job Summary:
          

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Plant Manager to lead and coordinate the operations of our manufacturing facility.  This leadership role requires close collaboration with Project Management, Quoting, Drafting, Accounting, Sales, and Manufacturing departments to ensure operational efficiency and strategic alignment with business goals.  The Plant Manager will act as the direct onsite contact for executive leadership, oversee Project Managers, and play a critical role in setting production schedules, coordinating labor, and ensuring customer satisfaction through quality and timely delivery.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities Overview:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for executive leadership on all plant operations.
  • Provide weekly sales and operations updates to upper management.
  • Assign projects to Project Managers based on workload, complexity, and strategic fit.
  • Establish and communicate tentative ship dates for all incoming orders.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to resolve project issues and release jobs into production.
  • Lead weekly status meetings with Project Managers and Sales to track project progress and production schedules.
  • Partner with the Plant Supervisor on workforce planning, overtime needs, and overall production efficiency.
  • Monitor quoted vs. actual direct labor costs in partnership with the Plant Supervisor and Quoting Department.
  • Drive production output to meet or exceed forecasted profit margins.
  • Work closely with the Head of Quoting to manage pricing strategy, quoting priorities, and discounting practices.
  • Review and approve installation quotes and project submittals.
  • Prioritize drafting deliverables, including submittal and sales drawings.
  • Audit monthly invoices to validate sales rep commissions.
  • Collaborate with Outside Sales to negotiate pricing with clients for contract and chain orders.
  • Act as a key contact for reps and dealers, providing support with quotes, drawings, and customer service needs.
  • Oversee the Warranty & Repair schedule and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Approve or escalate Purchase Requisitions based on need and budget alignment.
  • Work daily with Maintenance to ensure facility repairs and upkeep are managed efficiently.
  • Coordinate production schedules and forecasts with Star Manufacturing (RTRs and Cold Pans).
  • Manage grounds maintenance in coordination with landscaping vendors.


Requirements / Qualifications Overview:

  • Proven experience in a plant or operations management role, preferably in manufacturing or a related industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with project management, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Experience working with quoting and drafting systems.
  • Familiarity with sales and manufacturing software platforms.
  • Background in process improvement or Lean Manufacturing.
