Position Mission:

As a Floating Store Manager, this role will have the opportunity to create an impact in D&D NAPA, Inc. retail store impacting growth, sales/profit, and inventory turnover quota to help the company achieve optimum return on investments. The Floating Store Manager will develop store strategies to achieve each financial, operational and customer-service goals. The Floating Store Manager must able to motivate, coach and strengthen store employees along with serving as a resource to the store and company

Compensation:

Hourly, Overtime Non-Exempt, Time and a half overtime pay worked over 40 hours. Hourly Wage Range: $22.00 to $27.00

Essential Roles and Responsibilities Overview:

  • Work with company leadership to help analyze and manage operating expenses, effective store processes in the store to achieve financial objectives and quotas

  • Manage store inventory, delivery fleet and other physical assets for greatest return

  • Lead sales strategy and growth for the store with Major Account, Wholesale and Retail customers

  • Build and maintain relationships with customer base

  • Oversee class returns, processes for bad checks, and reconcile accounts

  • Lead the store implementation of asset protection and safety programs and monitor accuracy of the fixed asset listing

  • Review and interpret financial and operating information with the Distribution Center leadership management team, keeping management apprised of issues, progress and results

  • Provide accurate and timely financial projections for the store

  • Develop and prepare ad-hoc financial / business reports and assures payables are correctly applied and coded

  • Manage the store inventory paperwork process & write-offs through the Distribution Center

  • Monitor gross profit and work with pricing to identify margin opportunities

  • Manage head count and payroll budgets

  • Oversee and negotiate store service contracts that are not managed by the Distribution Center.

  • Provide the Distribution Center information needed for the store service contract negotiations

  • Provide operational guidance and support to store employees and schedule store employee training

  • Create a superior customer service experience to achieve maximum market penetration, drive store growth, increase sales and profitability

  • Provide daily leadership and create and sustain a culture of employee engagement

  • Partner with store employees and other store managers in order to drive company owned store initiatives

  • Lead a successful team, support the store employees, and manage in a fast-paced retail store

  • Manage store operations to maximize sales, profits and customer service

  • Build, coach, train and engage crew team to deliver superior levels of customer care and business results

  • Drive Inventory protection, asset management, operational and safety issue improvements

  • Lead overall cleanliness and readiness of delivery vehicles, sales floor, stock room and outside areas

  • Drive D&D NAPA operational and marketing programs while steering toward continuous improvement in processes and procedures

  • Grow customer relationships, help with sales/service questions, and ensure a positive experience both in the store and on the phone

  • Act as Store Manager on a temporary basis, in the absence of the permanent Store Manager

  • The ability to travel from Lincoln, IL to Hoopeston, IL. On an as needed basis.

Requirements / Qualifications Overview:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • equivalent business experience required

  • 2-5 years of store operations experience or equivalent business experience. Retail experience is desirable.

  • P & L analysis experience

  • Sales driven and customer focused

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and leverage technology to communicate and be effective

  • Effective written/verbal communication skills and strong analytical/problem solving skills

  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy equipment as needed

  • Ideal candidate should excel at managing multiple tasks efficiently to meet tight deadline

  • Must be adaptable, resourceful, and maintain a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment

  • Meticulous attention to detail is necessary, ensuring that all aspects of the store are orderly and that everything is maintained in its proper place.
