Detroit-based custom fixture and millwork manufacturer joins IIG’s growing portfolio of industrial and interior companies.

DETROIT, MI (July 30, 2026)

Iroquois Industrial Group (IIG), a third-generation family-operated holding company of industrial and manufacturing businesses, today announced the acquisition of Great Lakes Woodworking (GLW), a Detroit- based manufacturer of custom commercial fixtures, retail rollouts, and architectural millwork, in partnership with Big Shoulders Capital, a family office focused on acquiring and recapitalizing manufacturing companies.

Founded more than 40 years ago, GLW design-engineers, builds, and installs custom retail fixtures, storefronts, hospitality and corporate interiors, locker rooms, and museum displays for national brands. The company will continue to operate under the GLW name from its facility at 11345 Mound Road in Detroit, with its existing leadership team and workforce in place.

The acquisition expands IIG’s capabilities in interiors and commissioned millwork, complementing MOD Interiors and the group’s existing fabrication and contract manufacturing operations. GLW customers will see no interruption to active projects or rollout schedules, and existing points of contact remain unchanged.

“The acquisition of Great Lakes Woodworking represents another significant step in IIG’s strategy of building a world-class portfolio of manufacturing businesses that are stronger together than they are independently. Our partnership with Big Shoulders Capital combines operational expertise with long-term investment, creating a platform that will accelerate growth while preserving the craftsmanship and customer relationships that have defined GLW for more than four decades. Together, we are committed to investing in our people, expanding our capabilities, and building a premier manufacturing organization that creates lasting value for our customers, employees, and communities.”

SHANE DITTRICH
Chairman of the Board, Iroquois Industrial Group

“We have enjoyed a longstanding partnership with IIG and greatly value the relationship. We are excited to add GLW to the portfolio and look forward to continued success and growth between our organizations.”
